This business card has a transforming print in addition to the regular information.
When the card is tilted, the word in the right region will change.
This design is inspired by lenticular printing. The lenticular printing can store several images to display at different viewing angles. Instead of the lenticular lens, the card uses a parallax barrier. At the certain angle, the front barrier will block one of the words completely and the other word is shown.
The front of the card is a group of lines. The back is an interlaced combination of the words. In this design I used the same width on both of them. This is a 1/8 inch thick acrylic board. I used 20mil wide lines.
After etching, the etched parts are still a bit transparent. In order to solve the problem, I paint the board with a dry erase marker. When the paint is dry, a paper can be used to remove the paint on the surface.
